Notice of Intention to Pass a Property Standards By-law

TAKE NOTICE THAT, at a public meeting to be held at the Municipal Office (4766 Highway 61, Neebing) on January 21, 2026, commencing at 6:00 p.m., Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Neebing will consider passing a by-law to adopt property standards.

The purpose of a property standards by-law is to:

  • Prescribe minimum standards for the maintenance, repair, and occupancy of properties to ensure they are safe, habitable, and free from hazards.
  • Require any property that does not conform to these standards to be repaired or, in some cases, cleared of all structures.
  • Establish a Property Standards Committee to hear appeals from property owners or occupants who are not satisfied with an order issued under the by-law.

Any person who wishes to comment on this matter in person may attend the meeting and will be invited to make his or her input orally.

Approved Official Plan

The Official Plan adopted by Council on August 22, 2022 has been approved by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and came into effect on June 3, 2025.
