Neebing celebrated its 100th birthday back in 1981. But over those 100 years, it did not look the way it looks today.
Neebing, whose boundaries contain picturesque lakes, majestic cliffs, and boreal forest, together with farms, cottages, aggregate and mining operations, and small businesses, has changed in expanse over the years. Very originally, all of what is now Neebing was part of the Municipality of Shuniah, which was created by legislation in 1873.
At some point, the Township of Neebing was born, comprised of the geographic townships of Neebing Additional, Neebing, Blake, Crooks, and Pardee. Some acreage was lost through annexation to the (then) City of Fort William in 1892. Some acreage was gained when the unincorporated townships of Pearson and Scoble joined in 1999.
Today, the Municipality of Neebing is comprised of the geographic townships of Blake, Scoble, Pearson, Pardee and Crooks.
