Registration Opens July 11 for the 2026 Fish Derby

The Municipality of Neebing and the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) are excited to announce that registration opens July 11, 2026 for the annual Fish Derby, taking place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Little Trout Bay Conservation Area.
Anglers aged 13 and older are invited to participate in this exciting community event, which runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Competitors will vie for cash prizes, including a $1,000 first-place prize, with winners determined by the combined weight of their two best fish. Eligible species include Lake Trout, Whitefish, and Salmon.
Registration costs $120 per team (cash only), with the boat launch fee included. Registration will remain open until August 17, 2026. Participants can register at the Neebing Municipal Office, LRCA Administrative Office, or D&R Sporting Goods.
In addition to the competition, anglers will have the opportunity to contribute to environmental monitoring efforts by voluntarily donating a small fish sample for contaminant testing through the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
Whether you're fishing for the top prize, spending time outdoors with family and friends, or simply enjoying a day on Lake Superior, the 2026 Fish Derby promises a memorable experience for all participants.
