Little Trout Bay Fish Derby

The Municipality of Neebing and the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority have joined together once again to host the Little Trout Bay Fish Derby.

This is a one day event being held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Little Trout Bay Conservation Area. The derby will run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Winners will be based on the cumulative weight of the "two-best" fish. 

Eligible Species

• Lake Trout
• Whitefish
• Salmon

Prizes

• 1^st Place:  $1,000
• 2^nd Place: $600
• 3^rd Place:  $400

Registration

Registration OPENS on July 18th, 2025 and CLOSES on August 18, 2028.
Bonus:  Neebing residents can register as early as July 11th!  

This derby is open to all persons 13 years of age or older at the time of registration. Individuals under the age of 18 need a parent/guardian to sign-off on the registration in order to participate.

Cost is $120 per team of two individuals. Cash only. Launch fee included.

Help MECP:

Anglers will have the option to donate a 1" x 3" sample of their fish, taken from behind the dorsal fin, to be tested for contaminants by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.
