Emergency Declared in the Municipality of Neebing

Mayor Mark Thibert, Mayor of the Municipality of Neebing, has declared an emergency in accordance with the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.E.9, s.4.(1) as a result of the following emergency:  

MUNICIPAL INFRASTRUCTURE FAILURE: A road culvert on Sturgeon Bay Road in the Municipality of Neebing has experienced a major structural failure impacting the ability to traverse the road safely. This culvert has a high probability of total collapse resulting in the road being closed, thereby isolating residents and restricting access to emergency services, including medical response, fire protection, and evacuation routes.

The Emergency Area is described as Municipality of Neebing, Township of Blake, Sturgeon Bay Road Culvert located 350 metres west of the Mink Mountain Drive intersection. The emergency area includes those on Sturgeon Bay Road, Mink Mountain Drive, Island Avenue and Margaret Street North and South. Crews are currently on scene. Please use extreme caution when approaching this area.
