Burning Permits Required - April 1, 2026
Changes to Neebing Burning Permits
Burning Permits are required for all open air burning in Neebing during the fire season beginning April 1st through to October 31st. The types of burning permits available has changed. Be sure you are applying for the proper burning permit:
SEASONAL burning permits are issued for 1m x 1m (3'x 3') fires used for cooking, warmth and recreation (campfires). A Seasonal Burning Permit is valid from the date of issue to October 31.
INCINERATOR burning permits are issued for enclosed non-combustible containers as defined by Section 3.1(o) of By-law 2026-016 and are operated in accordance with Section 4.5 of By-law 2026-016. An Incinerator Burning Permit is valid from the date issue to October 31.
SPECIALTY I burning permits are issued for fires larger that 1m x 1m (3'x3') up to a maximum of 2m x 2m (6'x6'). Specialty I Burning Permits are issued for the burning of brush piles and are valid for three (3) days from the date of issue.
SPECIALTY II burning permits are issued for fires larger than 2m x 2m (6'x6') up to a maximum of 4.5m x 1.5m (15'x5'). Specialty II Burning Permits are issued for the burning of windrows and are valid for three (3) days from the date of issue.
ALL PERMITS become suspended if a fire ban or restricted fire zone is declare in the Municipality of Neebing.
On April 1, 2026 at 12:01 am, the burning permit application portal will open on the Neebing website: neebing.org/burnpermits
