Emergency Planning

Emergency Preparedness Begins With You!

The Neebing Emergency Response Plan includes valuable information for Neebing residents about what to do, who to call, and where to go in the event of an actual emergency.  Our comprehensive Neebing Emergency Program includes an annual review of the Emergency Response Plan itself, training for those who have active roles to play during an emergency, and annual exercises  to test our skills and make sure we are ready and able to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an actual emergency.

The plan includes:

  • Procedures for declaring an emergency
  • Communication strategies to provide timely information to the public
  • Emergency Operations Centre for coordination of emergency services
  • Public Information Guide to help residents in the event of an emergency

Emergency Preparedness for Residents

The Government of Canada has excellent emergency planning publications and internet resources to help you be better prepared for an emergency.

Know the risks

Knowing the risks will help you better prepare. Floods, blizzards, power outages or transportation accidents are common in our area.

Make a plan

Making an emergency plan will help you and your family know what to do in case of an emergency or disaster. Keep your plan in an easy-to-find location for quick reference.

Get an emergency kit

In an emergency, be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours. You will need some basic supplies and you may need to get by without power or tap water.
