FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 1, 2020

On April 1, 2020, Fire Chief Dale Ashbee declared a Restricted Fire Zone in the Municipality of Neebing and open air municipal burning permits will NOT be issued in until further notice.

A Restricted Fire Zone designation covers all outside burning, including grass, debris and campfires, even when using an outdoor fire grate, fire place or fire pit.

Fire Season in Northern Ontario starts on April 1 and in the uncertainty of the current COVID19 pandemic and its potential impacts on Neebing Emergency Services volunteers in the near term, a Restricted Fire Zone will help reduce the need to expend volunteer time and resources responding to early season brush and grass fires.

Continue to check the municipal website and our Facebook page for the ongoing status of open air burning permits in Neebing.  If you have further questions please contact the Municipal Office at (807) 474-5331.
