Recycling

Landfill sites don't last forever...

The amount going into the pit can be reduced by recycling much of your garbage.

If the pit continues to be filled at the current rate, both landfill sites will likely be closed within the next 20 years.  Opening and closing costs are very expensive and the municipality will have to pay those costs through raising taxes.

Items that are recycled don't fill up the landfill!

Recycled items are trucked out of the landfill site for processing elsewhere.

Landfill

The Municipality of Neebing has two landfill sites that are available for the use of residents only. Household waste must be tagged with a garbage bag tag available at the Municipal Administration Office. Currently, Full time residential property owners within The Corporation of the Municipality of Neebing will be issued, free of charge, an annual disbursement of 125 bag tags. All other properties will be provided an annual disbursement of 75 bag tags, free of charge. (Multiple owners or owners of multiple properties will be issued one set of free tags per household.)

Commercial users shall purchase punch cards and/or pay the tipping fees as outlined here.

Additional bag tags will be available to purchase at the Municipal Administration Office for a cost of $10.00 for 50 bag tags.

Each bag of household waste will be required to have a bag tag and must be tagged prior to entering the landfill.
